We dined at the Barkly hotel, the restaurant is called the Copper ?? (hopefully one of my other dining colleagues will remember the name). The restaurant itself is in a very spacious room with a huge dancefloor and pool table area to entertain the kids. Making your way to your table involves a treachourous walk through a palm tree jungle but it does have the effect of annonminity. So for all of you out there who are having an affair and want to dine out in secrecy you can hide behind a palm tree here and no one will see you!
I had heard whispers about the restaurants home made pasta especially the gnocchi so looked forward to ordering this off the menu. The pasta menu was quite extensive from good ole' spag bol to ravioli, canneloni and gnocchi. However upon ordering we were told they had run out of gnocchi and ravioli and oysters! So it was back to the trusty rump steak with veg. I ordered med/rare rump with Dianne sauce. The rump was nothing out of the ordinary and all in all it was a typical pub style meal. The dianne sauce was well done with real capers. Vegetables were of the frozen variety.
I was very disapointed that I didn't get my gnocchi meal so we have agreed to dine again at the Barkly and fingers crossed they have it in stock!
6/10 for me. In similiar style to Townies
